Paraquat & Maneb Exposure: Overview

Modified on 2009/10/14 21:45 by admin
Recently, scientists discovered that mice exposed to a combination of the herbicide paraquat and the fungicide maneb, suffered damage to the nigrostriatal area of the brain. Such damage is similar to that found in patients with Parkinson's disease. This finding has raised concerns because both paraquat and maneb are used extensively throughout the United States, often together. Adding to the controversy is the growing occurrence of Parkinson's disease in rural farming communities, the same areas where use of these chemicals is common.

See your doctor if you have experienced serious health problems because of exposure to paraquat or maneb. In addition, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
