Organophosphates account for about half of all the insecticides used in the U.S. They are used for both agricultural and non-agricultural purposes, as well as in mosquito control programs. Organophosphates are popular because they are relatively inexpensive and can be used against a broad spectrum of insects.
Organophosphates have been linked with
cancer and can be especially dangerous to infants and young children. In particular, children with
asthma may have severe reactions to organophosphates.
See a doctor if you or your child have experienced serious health problems because of organophosphate exposure. In addition, it may be important to
contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be
time limits within which you must commence suit.
