Nutropin is a synthetic growth hormone produced by Genentech, Inc. Nutropin is given to patients suffering from growth hormone deficiency, kidney failure, and Turner's syndrome.

Recently, Genentech discovered the existence of counterfeit vials of Nutropin. The company revealed that one of the counterfeit vials contained human insulin. While the effects of using the counterfeit Nutropin are not known, the company urges those who may have been exposed to the counterfeit Nutropin to see their doctor immediately.

Genentech reports that the counterfeit Nutropin can be identified by examining the type of box the product is contained in, the package insert, the vial label, the appearance of the solution, the vial's flip top, aluminum seal and stopper.

See your doctor if you believe that you have used the counterfeit Nutropin product. In addition, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
