High Tension Wires: Overview

All devices that use, carry, or generate electricity produce electric and magnetic fields (EMF). These devices include, but are not limited to, household appliances, office equipment, power lines, and building wiring.

Recently, concern has mounted regarding the safety of power lines and high tension wires. Some studies suggest that children living in close proximity to high tension wires may have twice the risk of developing leukemia, brain cancer or autism as other children. However, the majority of studies indicate only a weak association between high tension wires and serious illness.

See a doctor if you have experienced serious health problems that you suspect may be due to nearby high tension wires. In addition, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
