The heart muscle is located in the center of the chest. Its primary purpose is to pump oxygen rich blood throughout the body. The heart also carries the body's waste product, carbon dioxide, into the lungs to be expelled from the body. The heart has four chambers, the left atrium and ventricle, and the right atrium and ventricle.

There are many causes of heart related problems, such as poor diet, genetic disposition, and alcohol and tobacco consumption to name a few. Even some prescription and over-the-counter drugs can adversely affect the heart.
