Employees of an aircraft component manufacturing plant in Alabama allege exposure to toxic chemicals at the facility has led to serious illness. According to reports, at least 15 workers have died and dozens more have developed life-threatening illnesses while working at GKN Westland Aerospace in Tallassee. Lawsuits filed against the aerospace company allege workers were exposed to dangerous chemicals and fumes while making helicopter parts at the plant. Several employees reportedly developed cancer related diseases.
Employees insist GKN failed to both provide a safe work environment and train workers on how to avoid exposure to toxic chemicals.
