Firefighter, Police Officer & EMT Hearing Loss: Overview

Modified on 2009/10/14 21:37 by admin
Firefighters, police officers and other emergency personnel often suffer from severe hearing loss late in their careers. Hearing experts refer to the loud blaring of sirens as "toxic noise." Long-term exposure to such noise can damage the ear. This damage is often referred to as acoustic trauma.

See your doctor if you have experienced work related hearing loss. In addition, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
