Infertility is the failure to conceive a child after a couple has attempted to do so for one year. Male infertility may be caused by inadequate sperm, however female infertility is usually due to a problem with the fallopian tubes, the cervix, or ovulation. Approximately 20% of married couples experience some form of infertility. While there are many treatment options for infertile couples, many eventually manage to conceive without medical intervention.
